Department of ENT-HNS and Ophthalmology

                The section of ENT-HNS offers a full range of services for all age groups like Otoscopic, Nasopharyngeal, Laryngeal and Ear examinations. Surgeries also include Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Mastoidectomy, Maxillectomy, Foreign Body Removal (ear,nose,throat), Thyroidectomy, Tonsillectomy, Maxillofacial surgery, Rigid esophagoscopy, Myringotomy and Plastic/ Reconstructive surgery.

                The section of Ophthalmology offers OPD consultation and minor eye surgeries, and answers to referrals from other OPD Departments. At the moment, the usual major surgeries done at the Operating Room are due to ruptured eyeballs and sclera-corneal repair secondary to trauma.

The Department of Pediatrics offers services in General Pediatrics, Pediatric Neurology, Neonatology, Well-Baby & High Risk Newborn Clinic, Infectious diseases and Infection Control, Pediatric Bronchial Asthma, Toxicology, Hematology-Oncology, Nephrology, Cardiology, Ambulatory and Adolescent Pediatrics and Child Protection. Pediatrics provide an accredited residency training program.

The Department of Pediatrics is accredited by the Philippine Pediatric Society.

The Department of General Surgery offers a full range of surgical services like General Surgery, Traumatology, Kidney Transplant, Urology, Neurosurgery, Thoraco-Cardiovascular Surgery, Laparoscopy, Hepatobillary Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Pediatric Surgery, and Plastic/ Reconstructive Surgery.

The residency training program is accredited by the Philippine Society of General Surgeons.

Anesthesiology

The Department of Anesthesiology offers services on general, regional, and local anesthesia, including pain clinic.  The department provides an accredited residency training program.

The Department of Anesthesiology is accredited by the Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists.

Psychiatry

The Department of Psychiatry provides services on Child Psychiatry and Battered Women, Rehabilitation of Drug-abuse with all types of Psychotic illness, Neuro-psychiatric Examinations, Occupational Therapy, Stress Management, Family Counseling, Women and Children Protection Unit (Psychiatry Evaluation, Consultations).

Out Patient Dept.

The Out-Patient Department (OPD), a frontline service of the Bicol Medical Center serves as an ambulatory health care delivery unit of the hospital.  The image it projects reflects the impression of the entire hospital.

The OPD is currently housed in a two-story building at the front center of the Bicol Medical Center compound. It is referred to as the Bicol Medical Center Rolando Andaya Sr. OPD building.

First floor: The Triage Unit and Lobby are located in the entrance.  The Departments of Medicine, Sub-Specialty Section and PMDT (Pragmatic Management on Drug Resistant Tuberculosis) (adjacent tent) are located at the front, Department of Pediatrics at the back, left wing.

The OPD Records is found at the middle back part of the building. The Department of OB-Gynecology, Family Planning Clinic, Cashier, Tumor Clinic, OPD Head office and Orthopedics Department are situated at the right wing.

At the second floor, the left wing houses the Minor Operating Room, Treatment Room, Microbiology and Bacteriology laboratory. The Hospital Records Section is found at the back, middle part of the building. The Departments of Surgery, Rabies Clinic, ENT (Ears, Nose, and Throat), Ophthalmology and Dentistry are located in the right wing.

Emergency Dept

The Emergency Department has 24/7 Health Emergency Management Services covering the emergency rooms, Minor Operating Room, Resuscitation Room, Decontamination Room, Isolation Room, Satellite X-ray and Ultrasound Room, Women and Children Protection Unit and Toxicology Services.

TRAUMA AND GENERAL SURGERY

 

 

  • Road Traffic Accidents
  • Gunshot Wounds
  • Burn and Thermal Injuries
  • Spine Injuries
  • Severe Abdominal Pain
  • Ingestion of caustic substance
  • Blunt Chest and Abdominal Injuries
  • Limb Pain associated with discoloration of affected extremity
  • Category III Animal Bites

 

 

MEDICAL AND TOXICOLOGICAL SERVICES

 

 

  • Cardiac Arrest
  • Heart Attack
  • Stroke
  • Choking
  • Moderate to Severe asthma attacks and difficulty of Breathing
  • Seizures/Convulsions
  • Drug/Substance Ingestion
  • Behavioural Changes
  • Profuse non-traumatic bleeding

 

 

 

PEDIATRIC SERVICES

 

 

  • High –grade fever
  • Moderate to Severe asthma attacks and difficulty of breathing  (mild to severe)
  • Active seizure/ convulsion
  • Lethargy or difficult to awaken
  • Frequent vomiting / loose watery stools ( Persistent or Frequent Vomiting)
  • Loose watery stools with increased purging
  • Ingestion of foreign body
  • Poor Feeding or inability to feed or drink
